On the eye: Medium ruby with garnet hints.
On the nose: Smooth bouquet of pronounced ripe red fruits (raspberry) and black fruits (blueberry, blackberry, blackcurrant). The fruit aromas are framed by liquorice and tar, along with the typical tobacco leaf flavour of the Liste vineyard. Mushroom and forest floor finish this complex, elegant wine.
On the palate: Rich, drying structure with balanced tannins, good acid freshness and great length. Spice and liquorice play off each other.
Food pairing: Brasato al Barolo – a traditional Piemontese beef dish. Toma alle foglie di Tabacco – hard cheese wrapped in tobacco leaves.
