The Big Christmas Tasting, Chapter 2

(We hope you can join us for our Big Christmas Tasting.  Before we explain further, please note that included in the ticket price is an £8 bottle deposit, which will be fully refunded on safe return of the bottles we ship to you).

Normally one of Cuculo’s most popular annual events is the Big Christmas Tasting.

We are certainly not about to let a submicroscopic infectious agent with a daft name get in the way of that. This year we will be running two online tasting sessions, and tasting a total of twenty wines.

The tasting costs £20 per person, and that includes:

• 10 wine samples, each of 50ml (for couples a 100ml bottle is provided) (NB dessert wines 25ml per person);
• A tasting pack from our extensive counters of cheeses, cured meats, olives and antipasti (all dietary requirements catered for);
• Accompanying literature;
• An online presentation and tasting, complete with maps and slides.  This is participatory and we invite you to ask questions and share your comments;
• A £5 voucher for any purchase above £30.

The wines have been chosen as our Christmas picks, and include everything from jolly juicers to some pretty special bottles from some of the great Italian appellazioni. We’ll include dessert wines, but regret that sparklers are not possible to taste in this format.

“Circular Tasting” – an innovative idea

The tasting will commence at 4pm on Friday 18 December.  Once all ten wines have been presented and tasted, instead of finishing, James will start back again at wine number one.  That will be repeated until the last sequence, which should start around 8pm.  This way you can join in a fun, informative and fully participatory tasting event at a time of your choosing (within the hours described above). Ask questions and share comments whenever you like.

An important note about ordering and delivery.

If you are unable to collect from our shop, or live outside our 5-mile free local delivery radius, but it is imperative that the wines you order arrive by Christmas, then we would advise you to choose Chapter 1. The reason for this is that for obvious reasons the delivery infrastructure will be under unusually heavy pressure and our third party warehouse and couriers cannot guarantee their usual delivery timetable.
