A smashing little Pinot Grigio from the Veneto in north East Italy.
Bright aromas of quince, apple and pear, with brisk acidity and a soft almond finish. This Pinot Grigio splashes down happily by itself, and is also the perfect pairing with a risotto or seafood pasta. An absolute bargin, particularly at the case rate.

The Verga Pinot Grigio belongs to a long tradition of Venetian winemaking.
Enrico Verga founded the Verga label in 1895. His reputation was for affordable wines of excellent quality. Now in the fifth generation, the company is still growing. Meanwhile, the family has bought other labels with the same values.
This wine belongs to the ‘Natale Verga’ range. That is to say, they are affordable wines with strong personality. So they come from a deep respect for Italian winemaking tradition. The wines are fresh, light and fruity in style. They are made to be enjoyed by themselves, or with a range of different foods.
Verga Pinot Grigio is the Cuculo Wine of the Month for September 2021. We chose it because it is so enjoyable and such good value.
